Participation fee / accreditation fee is to be paid for the length of your team’s stay during the access period which starts on the 22nd of May (Monday) and ends on the 29th of May (Monday) when the services (listed below) are provided.

Considering different categories as far as accommodation the participation fees are as follows:

Category 1  (**** hotels)

Category 3 (** and *** hotels and guest houses)

For teams larger than 3 persons arriving together at the same time we offer the transfer between Budapest and Szeged for 21 EUR/person/one-way.

Individuals and teams of 3 or less requiring transfer should contact the Organising Committee for a custom price.

In case the exact departure time of your entire team will not be known by the time of accreditation the transfer fee will increase to 29 EUR/person for the way back.

In case accommodation and catering are booked independently and NOT through the Organising Committee you are still required to pay the accreditation fee of EUR 30/person/per day from the day of your arrival which includes the following services:

The Organising Committee cannot be held responsible for the quality and price of individually reserved accommodation.

Please keep in mind that because of limited availability of hotel rooms in various categories reservations will be accepted on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis which means your team will be redirected to a different category than initially requested if there is not enough space left in the required category.

The Organising Committee does not take responsibility for any extra service of the hotel, like minibar, telephone, parking, etc., these costs are to be paid directly to the hotel.

Check-in time is 15:00PM. The rooms are to be vacated until 11:00AM on the day of departure. (Upon request the hotels will provide storage rooms for an additional fee.)

The currency of the account is Euro so please make sure that your payment is in Euros. Please do not forget about the transaction fees. It is your responsibility to pay these extras when transferring money to our bank account.

The booking shall be provisional until the first instalment has arrived to our bank account hence the Organising Committee reserves the right to alter or cancel the reservation until that time. With the arrival of the first instalment it shall be a confirmed reservation. An updated proforma invoice will be sent by the Organising Committee verifying the arrival of your transfer to our bank account.

Accepted methods of payment at accreditation

Besides cash (only Euros and US Dollars are accepted) we accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards.

Cancellation terms

Should you cancel your booking, a charge will be made equivalent to any loss suffered by the Organising Committee, as itemized below. The amount of any cancellation fee will be calculated as a percent of the participation fee (minus the accreditation fee) according to the following period of notice given:

Boat rental

The Organizing Committee has a limited number of boats available for rental purposes (Nelo and Plastex brand). You may require rental boats by filling in the corresponding form and sending it back by the 10th of March as indicated. Upon receiving the boat rental form 50% of the rental fee will be added to the proforma invoice as it must be paid in advance as a deposit along with the participation fee. The remaining 50% must be paid upon arrival at the accreditation centre. Boat rental requests received after the deadline will be considered but the Organising Committee cannot guarantee the requested make or model and the rental prices double after the 20th of March.

All official participants of the World Cup are strongly advised to take out a medical insurance policy in their respective countries.

Medical care

The following medical services are available for all official participants of the World Cup: doctor on duty, hospital and clinic assistance. A medical centre will operate at the regatta course with ambulance and first aid. The costs above the regular first aid, ambulance and physiotherapeutic services are to be covered by your medical insurance policy, the Organising Committee is not responsible to cover your expenses in connection with hospital treatment, dental treatment or any other medical treatment.


All participants are kindly requested to contact the Hungarian Embassy or consulate in their respective countries (or the closest to you) in time regarding visa requirements. The difficulty of obtaining visa to Hungary varies by regions but you should calculate with a 45-day long issuing period to ensure the safe attainment of the visa.

The typical steps of obtaining visa are as follows:

  1. Booking accommodation via the Organising Committee
  2. Sending the following to Tamás Varga to the tamas.varga@mkksz.hu e-mail:
    • Passport copy (please note, your passport must be valid minimum 6 months from the last day of your stay)
    • Delegation Status (athlete, coach, team leader)
    • Name and address of the Hungarian Consulate/ Embassy where you will apply for Visa
  3. Contacting the Hungarian Embassy/ Consulate serving in your country/ territory and do the paperwork they request of you
  4. Organising Committee requests the booked hotel for verification of stay
  5. Organising Committee sends the letter of invitation along with the verification of stay to the Hungarian Embassy/Consulate and the National Federation
  6. Visa issuance

Please note that the Organising Committee will not send you an invitation letter without knowing your teams’ arrival/departure dates, where you are staying, how many people there are on your team and who they are! The Ministry of Foreign Affairs asks the same information from us so we can not stand up for you without you standing up for yourself by providing this information.

Classification in Szeged begins on Monday morning (May 22nd) and continues until Wednesday evening. The team leaders’ meeting is at 9:00 o’clock in the morning on Thursday (May 25th) while the competition begins the same afternoon with heats at 14:00.
